Ada's Place

Ada's Place Ada's Place in Quincy, California, is a unique and eco-friendly haven with a rich history and commitment to sustainability. The story began when Ada Miller, a pioneering soul, sold the property to the owners in 1995. Inspired by her adventurous spirit, they built their first eco-friendly motel cottage, Ada's Cottage, in her honor. This marked the beginning of their journey to create a place where history and environmental consciousness blend seamlessly. The acquisition of adjacent property led to the development of three more charming cottages—West Wing, Ruth's Garden, and Hop Sing's—all constructed with a passion for recycling and reusing materials. Preserving history and embracing eco-friendliness, Ada's Place stands as a true testament to their dedication. With salvaged materials like decorative roofing tin, unique cabinets, and beautiful old cedar, each cottage exudes warmth and character. Committed to sustainable practices, they installed solar panels on their house in 2009 and plan to extend this initiative to all the motel cottages. With a blend of cherished furnishings and a cozy atmosphere, Ada's Place offers a retreat where guests can experience genuine charm and a greener tomorrow.

Alliance for Workforce Development

The One-Stops within the AFWD tri-county service area include the Plumas Employment & Training Center, the Lassen Career Network and the Modoc Employment Center. These Centers provide a single address where a number of partnering agencies, each with their own identity and mission, provide core services focused on meeting the needs of job seekers and employers. The one-stops are similar to a shopping mall in this regard, i.e. the mall provides a facility for organizations to gather together to meet the needs of customers. Customers benefit from a single location to do their shopping. The One-Stop Employment Centers provide this same benefit to job seekers and employers with workforce preparation, while also encouraging each of the partnering agencies to maintain their own identity, mission and customer focus.

American Valley Community Services District

Nestled in the mountains of northeast California, East Quincy Services District provides water and sewer services to the east side of Quincy, CA. Governed by a 5 member Board of Directors East Quincy Services District prides itself on providing quality water and sewer service to a population of approximately 2500 people. On February 16, 1959, a mass meeting of the citizens of East Quincy was called by Ray Berkline, Jack Boyd, Bill Slaten and others interested in the formation of a district for securing water, sewer and street lighting for the community of East Quincy. Six years later water started flowing through the pipes to the residents of East Quincy. Starting with just 2 wells and one 800,000 gallon tank and 84 street lights the district has expanded over the years to now include 6 wells, 2 tanks (including the original tank) and a sewer collection system that was installed in the mid-1990's at the request of the state of California. Responsibility for the approximate 150 street lights was relinquished to Plumas County in the mid-2000's. Our pure, sweet, deep well water is not treated in any way. That's right! No chemicals or additives of any kind! So get yourself a glass and enjoy it while you browse our site. We're glad you stopped by!
