Chevy Chase Community Center

In September 1969, a community of concerned citizens who wanted to combat poverty and assist Indiana County residents in need established the Chevy Chase Community Action Council, Inc. After the CCCAC was incorporated as a tax-exempt non-profit organization, the group launched a fundraiser to build a community center. Their vision became a reality in 1971 when the Chevy Chase Community Center was constructed with assistance from the United States Army Corps of Engineers. In 2000, the Center was renovated and rededicated to the community with a grant from the Indiana County Commissioners. In 2016, spearheaded by the efforts of Mr. and Mrs. Rodney Rudduck the centers kitchen received a much-needed renovation to a commercial kitchen. The Chevy Chase Community Action Council, Inc. (CCCAC), commonly referred to as the Chevy Chase Community Center is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in Indiana County Pennsylvania in 1969. Chevy Chase Center engages the Indiana Community to empower the disadvantaged population of Indiana County with love, nutrition, education, and involvement.

Creps United Publications dates to the 1930s when Creps family patriarch Howard Creps started producing a pamphlet containing local news as a way to advertise his insurance business. The pamphlet grew to become a local newspaper. When the newspaper ceased production, the family began printing shopping guides, and the businesses eventually expanded into their modern form. In 1956, Robert P. Cunningham opened Cunningham Meats to assist the local farmers who needed a place to process their meats. However, processing meat was only the beginning for Cunningham Meats, located on Route 422 west of Indiana, as they grew exponentially in the years to come. Nowadays, Scott and his team do it all from cutting and cooling to aging, wrapping, smoking, and cooking. By adding a smokehouse room, chill cooler, packing room, larger cutting room, and more office space in 2004, they can produce any type of meat product that you are looking for. In 2009 they added a retail portion of the store, which includes a large variety of meat, even some gluten-free options, and dairy products, along with other grocery items such as spices, sauces, bread, beverages, and other snacks. The main focus of the course is Cunninghams award-winning smoked meats for customers who like to choose their own cuts. Winning over 100 State awards and now 19 national awards, Cunninghams consists of USDA inspected meats that are available for wholesale and retail purchase.
