At North Plains Food Bank, our mission is to provide nutritious food and essential resources to individuals and families facing food insecurity in our community. Serving over 850 people, we are dedicated to ensuring that no one in North Plains goes hungry. In fact, 61% of the clients we serve are our North Plains neighbors, highlighting the critical need for local food assistance.
As an independent food bank and not part of the Oregon Food Bank, we rely on the generosity of local businesses, farmers, and community members to stock our shelves and support our programs. Additionally, our Meals on Wheels center ensures that seniors have access to nutritious meals, serving lunches on-site every Monday and Wednesday from 11:30 am to 1 pm. For those unable to join us in person, our partnership with Forest Grove Meals on Wheels enables us to deliver meals directly to the doorsteps of homebound seniors, ensuring that no one in our community goes hungry.
In addition to promoting social interaction and addressing nutritional needs, the North Plains Senior Center is dedicated to supporting seniors in maintaining their physical health and mental well-being.
