Our story began in 1993 when Michael J. O’Connell, in collaboration with city and community leaders in Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded Jeremiah Program with a vision to empower women experiencing poverty, transforming their lives, and creating lasting change in their communities. Since our humble beginnings in Minneapolis, we have expanded our reach to nine cities nationwide. As the demand for our proven model increased, we ventured into new cities, establishing both residential and non-residential campuses to better serve our community. Our campus in Las Vegas, Nevada, opened its doors in 2022, and it embodies the essence of our mission and commitment to empowering women and families. We proudly stand as a thought leader on generational poverty and the systemic barriers that single-parent families face. Nutrition education is at our core. Chefs for Kids alleviate malnutrition and hunger in children through education and awareness. For more than 30 years, we have been the only Clark County School District-sanctioned nutrition education program within Title I schools - face-to-face with more than 200,000 students. We partner with nutrition educators, local chefs, and companies to deliver nutrition education initiatives that directly impact a child's understanding of food. Working together, we provide a Healthy Eating Education Program that not only feeds kids but provides them with the nutrition education building blocks for living a healthier lifestyle.We focus on three initiatives in our Healthy Eating Education Program:Nutrition Education - Each month teachers visit third-grade classrooms at Title I schools for 40 minutes of instruction in healthful nutrition practices based on the most current research, and the importance of physical activity.Cookin' Up Breakfast - Every year each of the Title I schools that receive our Nutrition Education also receives one free healthy breakfast for the entire student body and faculty, prepared by local chefs.Holiday Helpings - During the school holiday breaks we supply at-risk families in need of food with a gift card, nutrition information provided in our classrooms, and a bag of fresh produce.We need a Healthy Eating HERO like you to help us continue our important work. As a USTA NJTL we offer free tennis classes, lessons, and events, including an annual Nevada Awards Banquet and dance party. The program hosts district, state, sectional and national tournaments including the Mike Agassi NO QUIT Championships. The programs exist in many cities at inner city parks, schools, events, and offer the beginnings of a pathway from beginner, to as far as that child would like to go. This includes annual trips to the stop sporting events like the BNP Paribas Open to inspire the children. The goal is to use sports to teach the children how to become their best by using the universal principles and truths that help us to be happy, productive and successful. Children in this program have become state champions, national champions, NCAA Champions, professionals on the tour, and most importantly professionals at life. We are proud to provide a pathway for youth to follow in the extraordinary footsteps of Marty Hennessys extremely kind, loving and giving example.

A Greater Hope believes that hope transforms, love restores and healing is possible for every person. A Greater Hope is a nationally accredited, community-based organization serving hundreds of at-risk adults, vulnerable children and heroic resource (foster) families each year. Greater Hope provides a continuum of care that includes Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment, Foster Care, Supervised Visitation, Adoption Services, and a full scope of Counseling and Behavioral Health Services. Our goal is that every client, from a 38 year old single man to 3 day old twin baby girls, finds A Greater Hope. Since its inception in 2002, A Greater Hope has found safe and loving homes for more than 6,000 abused children. Every year, hundreds of adults, all ages, backgrounds and marital status join Greater Hope's robust Behavioral Health Services that enable them to transform their lives with therapeutic interventions and education on anger management, trauma, life skills and more. Our mission is to enhance the quality of life for those in need through culturally responsive integrated services. Foster care is when a child is placed in a temporary, safe home in a time of crisis. Adult caregivers, commonly known as Foster Parents or Resource Parents, then become part of the child’s support system, providing them with the necessities of life and healing programs designed to help them process the trauma they have endured. Resource Parents work with the child’s social workers, teachers, and doctors, to proactively nurture, love, and advocate for their needs until they are reunified with their birth family or are adopted. A Greater Hope actively searches for and approves families that are committed to helping children and can care for and nurture them without hesitation. Families in these positions must be ready to work towards the greater good of the children placed in their care.
