Many of our efforts and programs focus on the needs and lives of families and school children, especially those who are at-risk and often have limited opportunity to experience the great outdoors. Today, it is Get Outdoors Nevadas mission and vision to connect Nevadans and visitors from all backgrounds and ages to the states diverse outdoor places through discovering and experiencing education, volunteerism, and outreach programs. We are committed to preserving Nevadas public lands, urban trails, and community parks. The original foundation was formed in 2000 by a group of passionate Nevada outdoor enthusiasts and community leaders. This dynamic group predicted a critical link between our spectacular outdoors places and our quality of life. Get Outdoors Nevada was formerly known as the Outside Las Vegas Foundation. Our name changed in 2018 because Get Outdoors Nevada celebrates ALL of Nevadas amazing outdoor experiences. are always consistent with our commitment to encouraging others to discover, experience and connect to our states natural wonders, vast and unique landscapes.
