Temple Beth Sholom

Temple Beth Sholom was the first Jewish congregation to be established in Southern Nevada. Its members and programs have played, and continue to play, an integral part in the development of Las Vegas. No sturdier population has grown from such small beginnings as has the Jewish community in Las Vegas. Old timers recall the days when there were only two members of the Jewish faith here Eddie Blum (a part-time newsboy for the old Las Vegas Review) and Abe Abrams, known all over town as Abe the tailor. Others, who came after while the Boulder Dam (now Hoover Dam) was being constructed, had no idea that The Meadows would one day become the City of Destiny.

Sunrise Bible Church

Sunrise Bible Church started as a mission of Nellis Baptist Church on June 30, 1957. At that time, a survey was taken of the area and it was determined that approximately 4000 people lived in the section where the church property is now located. The survey showed that there was only one other church group attempting to serve the spiritual needs of all these people. Sunrise Baptist Church was constituted and became affiliated with the Arizona Baptist Association, and the Southern Baptist Convention on April 13, 1958, with a charter membership of 36 people in a carpenter shop, an abandoned building without lights, water or sewer, or other facilities on the corner of Nellis and Meikle. Organizational council members were Troy Brooks, Robert Smith, Wayne White, H. Merritt, Virgil Reeves, and E. W. Hunke Jr. Other program participants were MSgt Virgil Clubb, who became the first mission pastor of the church, R. Loden, and Eugene Muckerman. During the summer of 1958, the church met in a storefront in Nellis Plaza. On August 30, 1959, the church purchased the property on the corner of Betty and Kell. There was an existing building measuring 16 by 32 feet that was used as a church for the next two years. The building was in a serious state of disrepair but the capacity of the structure was 85 worshipers, and at times benches were placed outside the front doors to accommodate the overflow. The church bid $1.02 for the Little Theater building in Boulder City and the government accepted the offer. The structure was dismantled and transported the 25 miles to this building site, where they completed their first unit in 1962. The church purchased an additional 3 parcels of property by paying the past due to taxes for a total of 6 acres. The Home Mission Board funded $20,000.00 toward the church to help pay the pastor and to build buildings.

Lucky Little Chapel

Henry and Rachel moved to Las Vegas from Williamsburg, VA in 2007 with their two young sons for a job transfer. With the higher cost of living, Henry began working part-time at A Little White Wedding Chapel as a minister. Rachel also began performing ceremonies and they fell in love with the business! It was always a dream of theirs to have their own business one day, but the specific idea had never materialized. After the sudden loss of two family members, Henry and Rachel made a bold move when the opportunity presented itself and opened The Lucky Little Wedding Chapel at Casino Center in March of 2015. At first, they had one little interior suite, but decided from the first day, to conduct themselves as a high-end, 5-star business, with meticulous attention to detail. In May of 2017, they expanded the Casino Center location again into the storefront, giving them greater visibility and more space for guest services, a full gown and tux shop, and two chapels (one seating 16 guests and one seating 30 guests). And 2018 holds more plans for expansion with event space for larger weddings and receptions, and the expansion of photography opportunities, including glamour/boudoir and destinations! The heartbeat of The Lucky Little Wedding Chapel is Love! Henry and Rachel love people and love what they do, and this feeling permeates everything at the chapels. They are committed to excellence with each and every guest whether the guest spends $99 or $3999. They want every wedding experience to be amazing and beautiful and memorable, because they want every guest to say, We got lucky in Vegas!

Grace Point Church

Established in 2006. Grace Point is a non-denominational Christian Church located in North Las Vegas. The mission of Grace Point Church is to make disciples of Jesus that live in a community for the community. At the heart of our beliefs stands what Jesus refers to as the greatest of the commands: love God and love others (Matthew 22:34-40). We believe a church should be known not only by what it believes but primarily by what it does. Beliefs become stagnant and void if they are not translated into actions. We want Grace Point to be known primarily for its love for God and its love for people. We want to be known for what we do and not necessarily for what we stand against. For that reason, In essential beliefs, we emphasize unity. In nonessential beliefs, we exercise liberty. In all matters, we exhibit grace.
