Laughlin Economic Development Corporation
The Laughlin Economic Development Corporation is a 501(C)3 non-profit whose mission/vision is to attract -- and keep growing -- businesses, industries, and housing providers that Laughlin needs, and for which we know our existing residents and visitors can support, in our collaborative venture between civic and business leaders in Laughlin to promote the improvement of the health, welfare, and quality of life for our residents and visitors through steady, sustainable, economic growth as we add to our economic bases of retirement living and gambling-based tourism.
Fortunately, the Retirement Base is strong and the residential community is financially sound. In fact, the residential and commercial sectors -- excluding the casino resorts -- make up well over half the total taxable value of Laughlin. Thus the strong residential community with stable property values, coupled with available commercial buildings and land, allows for a steady development to serve the growing population now estimated to exceed 10,000 full-timers.
The LEDC provides assistance to renewable energy companies looking to develop their projects. Given Laughlin's history as an energy-producing community, and the transmission infrastructure with available capacity to transmit power, international companies are trying to capitalize on the advantages of Laughlin's sun-savoring slopes, especially for solar panel generation.

Southern Nevada Conservancy
SNC works as a cooperating association partner to federal land management agencies, providing services and programs that enhance the visitor experience at some of Nevadas most popular public lands. These are activities that people expect to find when visiting natural and cultural destinations but the managing agencies often do not provide directly.
Our Interpretive Programs team puts the natural and cultural world into context with thoughtful and imaginative activities designed to build curiosity, understanding, and fun. What better place to foster interest in STEM careers than in the great outdoors? What better time to encourage good stewardship of public lands than right now!
We also fill niche roles land management agencies have a need for such as amenity fee collection at Red Rock Canyon NCA or litter volunteer management at Mt. Charleston. Through Special Projects such as Jackson the Red Rock Burro or interpretive trail kiosks, our activities enhance the educational value of the places we serve and the experience of the people that visit.

Las Vegas Rescue Mission
LVRM was founded in 1970 by a pastor and six businessmen who had a calling to help those who were homeless and hungry. Together, they secured a tiny storefront at 414 West Bonanza Road. By Gods grace, they provided sandwiches and drinks, along with mats and blankets for men to eat and sleep away from the elements.
We are more than just a shelter; we stand as a beacon of hope. We continue to adapt to meet the needs of men, women, and children in an ever-changing society. Through effective, innovative Christian recovery programs, the Mission provides a path for those who want to escape the despair of the streets.

Children's Advocacy Alliance
CAA believes that by providing the right services at the right time, vulnerable families can be supported, child abuse and neglect can be prevented, and the effects of trauma and harm can be reduced.CAA advocates for a paradigm shift in public perception: from saving the child to save the family. This approach emphasizes the critical need to provide help and services at the beginning of the cycle through preventive steps and measures, rather than at the end of the cycle, most often associated with children entering the foster care system.Annette Dawson Owens is a lifelong education advocate who believes in equity and access to an excellent education for all students. She has worked in both district and charter schools and has studied high-performing schools and leaders across the country. She has seen firsthand, quality outcomes that are possible with effective school design. Annette serves on many communities and education advisory boards. Annette attended K-12 in the Clark County School District and went on to earn an undergraduate degree in Zoology, a Masters in Education from UNLV, and a Masters in Administration from Sierra Nevada College. She completed Georgetown's Executive Leadership through the Public Education Foundation and is grateful to be a current Jameson Fellow. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the great outdoors. Annette looks forward to working together with the community and improving outcomes for all students and families in the great state of Nevada.

Grace Point Church
Established in 2006.
Grace Point is a non-denominational Christian Church located in North Las Vegas. The mission of Grace Point Church is to make disciples of Jesus that live in a community for the community. At the heart of our beliefs stands what Jesus refers to as the greatest of the commands: love God and love others (Matthew 22:34-40). We believe a church should be known not only by what it believes but primarily by what it does. Beliefs become stagnant and void if they are not translated into actions. We want Grace Point to be known primarily for its love for God and its love for people. We want to be known for what we do and not necessarily for what we stand against. For that reason, In essential beliefs, we emphasize unity. In nonessential beliefs, we exercise liberty. In all matters, we exhibit grace.

Nevada Wheelchair Foundation
The Nevada Chapter of Wheelchair Foundation, co-founded by brothers Don and John Williams, is leading an effort, in line with the parent organization, Wheelchair Foundation, to deliver a wheelchair to every man, woman, and child that needs a wheelchair but may not have the resources to acquire one. For those individuals, a wheelchair offers freedom, self-reliance, mobility, and hope.
More than ever, we need your help! It remains that between 7,000 and 10,000 Nevada citizens are deprived of mobility because of numerous reasons. The wheelchairs they need simply to get across the street - or across the room - are out of reach financially. The Wheelchair Foundation, Nevada Chapter, believes that these people deserve the independence and dignity that comes with owning a wheelchair.

Differential Response Family Support
The Differential Response Family Support team works together with Clark County Child Protective Services (CPS) to assess families who are in need of community support and assistance. The DR program is designed to help families (all referred through the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline) break the cycle of CPS involvement without removing children.
The Differential Response team makes home and school visits based on the reports made to the CPS Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline and offers various types of assistance based on the nature of the report.
During these assessment visits, the family may be referred to other services in our local area, but most families benefit from this type of early intervention. Our assessment focuses on the family’s unique strengths and needs.
Our goal is to reduce the risk of future CPS involvement and provide unique family interventions that allow the family to move forward independently and productively and avoid future CPS investigations.

Jeremiah Program
Jeremiah Program
Disrupting Poverty, Empowering Women, and Transforming Communities
Welcome to Jeremiah Program, a national organization on a mission to disrupt the cycle of poverty for single mothers and their children, two generations at a time. Our story began in 1993 when Michael J. O’Connell, in collaboration with city and community leaders in Minneapolis, Minnesota, founded Jeremiah Program with a vision to empower women experiencing poverty, transforming their lives, and creating lasting change in their communities.
At Jeremiah Program, we firmly believe that when a mother invests in her personal and professional goals while supporting her children's education, she can reshape her family's future and become a powerful change agent within her community. We witness these transformative moments every day, as single mothers embrace our holistic approach, stepping into leadership roles, and utilizing all of their unique identities to achieve their goals.
Poverty should never be feminized, and racial and gender divisions should not hinder access to career and financial opportunities. We envision a world where women who experience poverty not only hold a seat at the table but also hold the microphone and curate the agenda. To turn this vision into reality, Jeremiah Program offers one of the nation's most successful strategies for breaking the cycle of poverty, empowering single mothers and their children together.
Since our humble beginnings in Minneapolis, we have expanded our reach to nine cities nationwide. As the demand for our proven model increased, we ventured into new cities, establishing both residential and non-residential campuses to better serve our community.
Our campus in Las Vegas, Nevada, opened its doors in 2022, and it embodies the essence of our mission and commitment to empowering women and families. We proudly stand as a thought leader on generational poverty and the systemic barriers that single-parent families face. By addressing structural inequities and amplifying the voices of those most impacted by the challenges of early childhood education, college access, income inequality, and affordable housing, we continuously work towards sustainable solutions.
At Jeremiah Program, we recognize that our success lies in collaboration and inclusivity. We seek to create a movement that empowers women, supports families, and transforms communities. We value the knowledge and experience present within the communities we serve, which is why we actively seek input from our participants to shape our programs and ensure they remain impactful.
Together, we can create a future where single mothers are no longer trapped in poverty but are instead equipped with the tools and support they need to thrive. Explore our programs, initiatives, and success stories, and join us on our journey to disrupt poverty, empower women, and transform communities, one family at a time. Together, we can build a brighter and more equitable future for all.

Nevada School of Inquiry
The Las Vegas valley has one more option to add for middle school students this year. Opening its doors for the 2022-23 school year is the Nevada School of Inquiry (NVSI). NVSI is a nonprofit, private middle school focused on creating the next generation of well-rounded, confident, problem solvers through a unique educational model.
NVSI provides local middle school students not just an education, but an experience. Students learn by being challenged with problems where they must provide evidence to their claims. The learning experience unfolds through units of instruction that end each month with an authentic learning experience, outside of the school, bringing their learning into the real world.
Directors Christina and Eric Threeton are a local educator couple that have made the bold decision to open the school. Part of a growing microschool movement, there are only a total of 30 students accepted into the school each year. By keeping the size smaller than traditional middle schools, NVSI can truly individualize learning while creating lasting relationships with students and families.
Unlike many other tuition-based schooling options, the school charges a flat rate that includes all school supplies, daytrips, testing, and application. As a registered school for the Nevada Educational Choice Program, qualifying families can access funds to help cover tuition. Against Rape dba The Rape Crisis Center
Founded in 1974 as Community Action Against Rape (CAAR), The Rape Crisis Center (RCC) began as the combined effort of Florence McClure and Sandra Petta, two women living in Las Vegas who were outraged by the lack of resources and respect for those affected by sexual assault. Mrs. McClure originally ran The RCC out of her home, with the goal of helping those in Clark County heal from the trauma of sexual violence. Her dedication and vision inspire us today, and our goal remains the same, to assure that victims of sexual assault have the support and resources they need to move through the process of healing. Poor, sick or injured people are generally considered the proper people to whom charity should be given. The Rape Crisis Center has been serving our community for more than 45 years, with a constant focus on serving all that have been impacted by any form of sexual violence. With the recent addition of our R.I.S.E. program serving victims of human trafficking, we have added service to those impacted by sex and labor exploitation to our mission. Our mission is offering hope, help and healing to those affected by sexual violence and exploitation.

McCaw School of Mines Foundation
The McCaw School of Mines is built on the campus of the McCaw STEAM Academy. It started out as a paper-mache model of a mine tunnel built in the corner of a classroom. Teacher Janet Bremer and others were instructing a course on Nevada mining and felt the model would give fourth-grade students more of an idea of what it was really like to be in a mine.
Shortly thereafter, the Gordon McCaw Elementary School staff met, discussed the idea, and then decided to think big. As a result, in 1996, the McCaw School of Mines became a 4,500 square foot reality at the McCaw STEAM Academy in Henderson, Nevada. Built along the same lines as the Indiana Jones exhibit at Disneyland, it is the only simulated mine of its kind in the state of Nevada. In 2000, the Visitors Center was added to the site.
The McCaw School of Mines represents a million-plus dollar project built entirely from donations. The McCaw School of Mines Foundation was formed to provide for the continuing development, operation, and maintenance of the McCaw School of Mines. The Foundation provides free transportation for students from the Clark County School District to visit the mine. We gladly accept donations and are always in need of volunteers to help with tours and events.

Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance
The Las Vegas Global Economic Alliance (LVGEA) brand was established in 2012.
The organizations heritage is forged from a rich history of economic development achievements dating back to 1956 when the Southern Nevada Industrial Foundation was formed. Later rebranded as the Nevada Development Authority, the organization underwent a major transformation when Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval worked with the Legislature to restructure Nevadas economic development landscape in 2011.
The Southern Nevada business community coalesced around an economic diversification strategy that facilitated the rise of a restructured regional economic development entity. The NDA then became the LVGEA.
Throughout its various iterations, the organization has embodied a mission that wedded diversification and infrastructure planning with the overall goal of facilitating economic growth in Southern Nevada. LVGEA will expand upon its diversification efforts by targeting global opportunities that hold the potential to stabilize the regions economic future.

The mission of S.A.F.E. House is to stop abuse in the family environment by providing safe shelter, support, advocacy, counseling, and education.
What started as a small, grassroots mission to stop domestic violence, grew into a lifelong mission for Julie Proctor, one of the many co-founders of S.A.F.E. House. Nevada Child Seekers
Our Story - "Missing" "Taken" "Abduction" " Runaway"
Words that strike fear into parents. Words that send Nevada Child Seekers into action!
Over 8,000 children are reported missing each year in Nevada, and approximately 200 are considered endangered or abducted, according to the Nevada's Missing Children Clearinghouse. Nevada Child Seekers was created in 1985 in response to these alarming statistics to address the plight of missing children in our communities.
As we experience rapid growth in population, so does the need to provide additional help and support to families and law enforcement for the location and reunification of our missing children. Over the years services have expanded to include safety education programs, counseling referrals, support groups and active participation with the Nevada Amber Alert Committee.
We host hundreds of child safety assemblies a year from k-12 grade. Empowering our children with the tools and resources to protect themselves and each other.

Hoving Home
Our Story
John and Elsie Benton, lovingly known as Mom and Dad, founded the first Hoving Home in Garrison, New York in 1967. Two years before founding the Home, John and Elsie were asked by David Wilkerson to join his staff at the Teen Challenge in Brooklyn, New York. Agreeing to do so, the couple and their three children moved to Farmingdale, and John began traveling with David as the organization’s Associate Director.
In September 1965, David asked John to take over the Director position at the Women’s Home in New York. During this time, John and Elsie spent many nights walking the streets of New York City in search of young women who were prostituting and in need of help. As Director, John writes a book called Debs, Dolls & Dope and began looking for a place outside the city to build a new facility for their women.
In March 1967, John and Elsie attended a dinner party at the home of Sonya and Paul Dilena. Also in attendance were David and Gwen Wilkerson and Pauline and Walter Hoving. At the party, Mr. Hoving asks John about his plans for the future. In response, John expresses his desire to move the women of his program to a place outside the city. Mr. Hoving is moved by John’s wish to provide a better environment for the women, and tells him that he’d like to help by introducing him to someone at the Jones Foundation.
Shortly after, David and John tour a property in Garrison, New York. As they stood on the bank of a small stream running through the property, they both felt that God had meant for the 22-and-a-half-acre estate to be the site of the new Home.
In June 1967, the Benton family buys the land with the help of the Jones Foundation, committing to pay $15,000 a year until the property is paid for. The Home ends up costing $175,000 in total. The Bentons move into the Home with their four staff members and the twelve women enrolled in their program. Later that year, John and Elsie rename the facility the Walter Hoving Home to honor Mr. Hoving for helping them attain the property.
Since then, the Home has helped thousands of women reclaim their lives from drug and alcohol abuse. Under the leadership of the Bentons, the Hoving Home has opened two additional facilities in Pasadena, California, and Las Vegas, Nevada.
The Bentons have spent more than half their lives devoted to helping women through their darkest times. From their first venture of reaching out to women on the streets of New York, the Bentons have demonstrated genuine love and concern for women trapped in the vicious cycle of addiction and low self-worth.
In 2016, Beth Greco assumed the role of CEO/President and ushered the Home into its 50th year! Since then, we have opened a home in Oxford, NJ, and a Women and Children program at our Garrison, NY location. We are looking forward to the future and all God has in store for the Hoving Home as we continue to reach out to women and their children.

Family and Child Treatment of Southern NV
Family and Child Treatment of Southern Nevada (FACT) was founded in 1984 as a result of a merger between two previously existing United Way counseling programs; C-SAT (Child Sexual Abuse Treatment) and Family Counseling. Under the direction of the United Way, these two agencies consolidated their administrative and programmatic resources to form FACT. This integration meant that FACT provided specialized services in both the areas of childhood sexual abuse and family counseling. As the agency began to grow and expand over the years, FACT evolved to address the needs of underserved populations as well as integrating education and prevention into the treatment structure. Today, FACT, a United Way accredited non-profit agency, remains dedicated to helping children, adults and families heal from the traumas and cycle of abuse, neglect, violence, and addiction through education, prevention, and treatment services.
FACT is recognized by the Clark County community as a leader in the development and implementation of programs to address the complex issues of sexual abuse, domestic violence, child supervision and exchange, child trafficking and adolescent substance abuse. Additionally, FACT works in collaborative partnerships to serve diverse populations and provide services throughout the vast community.

Get Outdoors Nevada
Get Outdoors Nevada, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, was formerly known as the Outside Las Vegas Foundation. Our name changed in 2018 because Get Outdoors Nevada celebrates ALL of Nevada's amazing outdoor experiences.
The original foundation was formed in 2000 by a group of passionate Nevada outdoor enthusiasts and community leaders. This dynamic group predicted a critical link between our spectacular outdoor places and our quality of life.
Today, it is Get Outdoors Nevadas mission and vision to connect Nevadans and visitors from all backgrounds and ages to the state's diverse outdoor places through discovering and experiencing education, volunteerism, and outreach programs. We are committed to preserving Nevada's public lands, urban trails, and community parks.
To this end, we pursue a three-fold approach to education, service, and community engagement. Many of our efforts and programs focus on the needs and lives of families and school children, especially those who are at-risk and often have limited opportunities to experience the great outdoors.
We love the outdoors that is our backyard.

Las Vegas Natural History Museum
Las Vegas Natural History Museum
The founding of the Las Vegas Natural History Museum stemmed from the realization of a tremendous need in the community for a museum promoting an appreciation and understanding of global life forms, past and present.
In February 1989, a small group of concerned citizens requested that the Las Vegas City Council assist in finding a home for a pre-existing collection of wildlife and prehistoric exhibits. The City of Las Vegas purchased a building, located in the center of a proposed Cultural Corridor, to house the Museum. This building is leased for one dollar a year; however, the museum is responsible for renovations, upkeep, and operations.
With the assistance of local businesses and private individuals, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum opened its doors in July 1991, exhibiting a varied collection of wildlife and prehistoric exhibits on loan. Since then, the Museum has obtained its own multi-million dollar, world-class collection, and created an exciting and interactive learning experience.
From the desert to the ocean, from Nevada to Africa, from prehistoric times to the present, the Las Vegas Natural History Museum takes young and old alike on a learning adventure around the world.
