History
Established in 1987.
In 1987, Kit Whittington was serving as the primary caregiver for her grandmother, who had been diagnosed with cancer. Kit was the only family member available to help care for her grandmother. Because Kit worked full time, serving as the primary caregiver grew increasingly difficult both physically and emotionally. Kit knew this was unhealthy and unsustainable in the long term.
After scouring ads in papers, yellow pages and magazines, Kit finally found someone she thought was trustworthy enough to care for her grandmother. The woman had advertised herself as a caregiver and was an independent contractor. Over the next few months, there were many tough moments and they ultimately proved unbearable.
Kit's own feelings of helplessness and guilt with the situation fueled her to find a better way of caring for her grandmother. Now, 24 years later Kit continues to remind her staff of the personal struggles she and other families face with end of life decisions.

Anticipating and navigating the transitions that come with growing older can be overwhelming for individuals and for families. For some, planning for their own future needs or the needs of an aging loved one can be complicated and stressful. And for those already trying to manage another person’s care, there are times when more direction or support are needed. In these cases, professional geriatric care management can be a tremendous help. Geriatric care management is a holistic approach to caring for older adults, assessing and planning for the needs of an individual as he or she enters into the later stages of life. A care manager is a professional trained to guide the course of care, like a captain of a ship, with a big picture view of the obstacles and conditions ahead.
At Aging Gracefully, we specialize in assessing the needs of individuals and families facing these transitions. Our goal is to maintain a person’s dignity, quality of life, and independence.
Here is a non-exhaustive list of services we provide:
Conduct care-planning assessments to identify needs, challenges and eligibility for assistance.
Screen, arrange and monitor in-home help and other services.
Review medical issues.
Offer referrals to specialists to avoid future problems and to conserve assets.
Provide crisis intervention
Attend medical appointments and advocate for the client
Work with all the provider team to assure continuity of care
Encourage socialization and visit with the client and make sure their psychosocial needs are being met.
Act as a liaison to families at a distance either geographically or relationally.
Assist with moving clients to or from home, a rehabilitation facility, assisted living or nursing home.
Provide transportation and advocacy at appointments.
Maintain an up to date medical history including diagnosis and current medications.
On call 24/7 for assistance and support in the case of emergency including going to the emergency room to provide support and advocate.

Options for Justice is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization designed to support individuals who have a developmental disability and who find themselves involved in the criminal justice system.
Navigating the justice system is challenging in the best of circumstances, however, for individuals who have a developmental disability, it can be even more difficult. Individuals often have limited understanding of the steps necessary to achieve a desirable outcome once involved in the system. They often do not have the resources or supports in order to be successful.
Options for Justice works with these iindividuals throughout every step of this process. We will provide supports to individuals in a variety of different community settings including jail, court, the probabtion office, meetings with attorneys. and all necessary community resources. Individual plans will be developed for every individual served and supports will be provided as long as they are actively involved in any part of the system.
All supports and services are provided to these individuals at no cost to them. The agency is funded by SB30 dollars through St. Louis, County, St. Louis, CIty, St. Chatrles and Lincoln County. It is also very active in fundraising and is always looking for the support of community partners.
In addition to providing client supports, Options for Justice also provides training to professionals in both the justice and dd services systems. These imporetant trainings help create a better understanding for professionals in recognizing what a developmental disability is, understanding the unique challenges some individuals may have, and finding ways to better support these invididuals through the system.

Looking for party entertainment? Silly Jilly can entertain your party guests for any length of time from a half hour to the whole party. About half her events (not including restaurants) are birthday parties for ages 1 to 8. Here are some scenarios for children’s birthday parties:
The birthday child feels special as I make him or her a giant balloon hat. Then kids and adults are amazed at watching me make my famous balloon animals for all the kids. I can do big and fancy balloon animals that take about three to four minutes to make, or if I just put two balloons in each sculpture, they will take one to two minutes to make.
Book Silly Jilly for a jam packed performance of balloon hats, a fun game, a magic and comedy show, and balloon animal guessing game. With balloon hats, your child is the star as party guests shout “bigger” as I add on more and more balloons to the birthday child’s hat. Plus I can make all the guests a colorful balloon hat. Then the kids will love cheering each other on in a game I call Silly Pass the Parcel. The most fun part of my birthday party performance is my fast paced audience participation magic show in which your little one is the star again. I combine magic tricks with a silly comedy twist that gets kids ages three to eight rolling with laughter. Then the balloon animal guessing game. As I finish up the balloons the kids will need another activity such as eating cake. The kids favorite part of my show is often, “When the toilet squirted you in the face.” Before I leave I ask who wants to look in my little toilet, and the kids who say, “I do,” think it is hilarious to be squirted.
For a party of about ten kids, this scenario will take about an hour and a half, and she'll be holding almost everyone's attention for at least two thirds of the time.
Another birthday party option is: a wild and crazy balloon hat for the birthday child only, Silly Pass the Parcel game, and my fun funny magic show will take forty five minutes for any number of kids.
Add face painting to one of the above options. It will take about three minutes per child.
My fee for St. Louis City and County is $120 for the first hour and $25 for each additional fifteen minutes. Most other metro area locations are just $10 more. If you want her in clown and she doesn't expect another clown gig that day (usually that means weekdays) she has an hour minimum.
