Child Advocates of Yuba
Child Advocates of Yuba is an integral part of Child Advocates of Placer County, a non-profit organization with a powerful mission to support children and families in the Marysville, California, area. This organization began its journey in 2004, focusing initially on establishing the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Program for the Placer County Juvenile Dependency Court. Over the years, they've experienced impressive growth, with dedicated volunteers serving foster youth and at-risk children, reaching 90% of Placer County's foster youth in recent years. In 2019, CASA volunteers provided vital assistance to 368 foster children and probation youth.
Beyond the CASA Program, Child Advocates of Placer County expanded its impact with the creation of the Youth Mentor Program in 2009 and the addition of Family Mentors in 2010, with funding support from Placer First 5. These programs intentionally train volunteers to assist at-risk parents, enhancing their chances of family reunification and stability. In 2016, the organization introduced the K9’s 4 Kids Program, designed to provide support to youth facing challenging environments.
