Almanor Recreation And Park District

Welcome to Almanor Recreation and Park District (ARPD), a dedicated entity nestled within the scenic landscape of Plumas County, California. As an unfunded Special District, we are driven by a singular mission: to foster vibrant recreational opportunities while supporting youth sports and maintaining essential sports fields within our community. Situated in the heart of the Lake Almanor Basin, ARPD serves both the commercial enterprises and residential neighborhoods that call this picturesque region home, catering to a population of approximately 4,000 individuals.

Recognized by the Plumas County Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFco) for our commitment to recreation and parks, ARPD operates within a designated sphere of influence that encompasses much of northwest Plumas County. Our efforts extend beyond mere administration, as we actively produce and sponsor a diverse array of community events, programs, and capital projects, all with an unwavering focus on enhancing recreational amenities, parks, and trails for the benefit of our residents and visitors alike. At the heart of our operations lies the Truman Collins Sports Complex, a cornerstone facility dedicated to promoting youth and adult sports, and fostering a culture of active living within our community.

Conveniently headquartered at 101 Meadowbrook Loop, just west of the Truman Collins Complex, our office serves as a hub of activity where community members can engage with our dedicated staff during regular office hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 2 pm. Whether you're seeking information on upcoming events, exploring ways to get involved, or simply looking to connect with fellow enthusiasts of outdoor recreation, ARPD stands ready to welcome you into our vibrant and inclusive community committed to growing recreation in the Almanor Basin.
