Snake River Stampede Rodeo

The Stampede originated from the Nampa Harvest Festival in 1911, featuring agricultural exhibits and contests. Bucking contests were added in 1913, gaining popularity over the years. By 1937, the rodeo separated from the festival became a professional event named the Snake River Stampede, and moved to July. Professionalization included engaging Leo Cramer as a stock contractor and installing lights for nighttime shows.
