Hospice care, renowned for its compassionate and high-quality approach to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses or injuries, relies on a collaborative team effort encompassing expert medical care, pain management, and tailored emotional and spiritual support, all customized to meet the unique needs and desires of each patient. This holistic approach extends its support to the patient's loved ones as well.

At the core of hospice and palliative care is the fundamental belief that every individual has the right to a pain-free and dignified end-of-life journey, with the assurance that their families will receive the essential support to facilitate this process.

Hospice care prioritizes providing comfort and care rather than seeking a cure, and it is most often administered within the familiar and comforting environment of the patient's own home. Hospice services are also available in dedicated hospice centers, hospitals, nursing homes, and other long-term care facilities. It's noteworthy that hospice care is covered by Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurance plans, HMOs, and various managed care organizations.

While typically a family member takes on the role of primary caregiver and, when appropriate, contributes to decision-making for the terminally ill individual, our Bristol Hospice team plays a crucial role. Our team members make regular visits to assess the patient's condition and provide additional care and services as needed. We are available around the clock, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, ensuring continuous support for our patients and their families.

Volunteers play a vital role in our hospice services, complementing the care provided by our professional team. Their contributions help enhance the quality of life for patients and their families during this challenging time.
