Mt. Zion Police Department
The Mt. Zion Police Department comprises 11 sworn officers dedicated to serving a community of over 6,000 residents. Additionally, the department includes two non-sworn personnel who manage incoming calls and assist walk-ins at the lobby from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
Mt. Zion boasts a remarkably low crime rate, standing at 63% below the national average. Violent crimes in the area are notably reduced, registering 68% lower than the national average.
In recognition of its commitment to safety and security, the Village of Mt. Zion earned the distinction of being the 13th safest city in Illinois in 2015.
