Sophomore leap: Peoria Notre Dame forward elevates her game in the second season
PEORIA – Two games were all it took for Layne Langholf to notice a major difference in Kaitlin Cassidy’s skills.
The Peoria Notre Dame coach had consulted with his girl's basketball staff about their sophomore forward. The verdict was a consensus among the Irish bench.
“She’s a different player than she was last year,” Langholf said. “She’s really developed her game.”
Cassidy garnered all-tournament team honors at the Fairbury Prairie Central Thanksgiving Tournament. She averaged 15 points per game in the tourney highlighted by a 23-point effort against the hosts.
