Embark on a transformative journey with Cal Poly Pomona's Online Master of Public Administration (MPA) program, offered through the College of Professional and Global Education. Tailored for individuals currently employed in correctional management or those aspiring to enter the field, this program equips students with the essential skills and insights needed to navigate California's intricate correctional system.
As the most populous state in the U.S., California's correctional landscape is both complex and expansive, encompassing 35 state prisons, 58 county jails, and numerous other detention facilities. With a steadfast commitment to rehabilitation, education, restorative justice, and reentry initiatives, California presents a dynamic environment for those engaged in correctional management.
At Cal Poly Pomona, we are at the forefront of this transformation. Home to pioneering initiatives such as the Reintegration Academy and the acclaimed Prison Education Project (PEP), led by Dr. Renford Reese, we are committed to driving positive change within the correctional system. Dr. Reese, a visionary leader in this field, will serve as the Program Coordinator for our online MPA program, bringing together his expertise with that of seasoned correctional management practitioners and esteemed scholars in public administration.
