Virtual Flight of Honor

The Virtual Flight of Honor, organized by Hospice of Southern Illinois, stands as a touching tribute to veterans and their families, providing a morning of honor, reflection, and appreciation. As part of our Level 4 Status in the We Honor Veterans Program, a national partnership between the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization and The Department of Veteran Affairs, this immersive experience offers a symbolic journey reminiscent of an "Honor Flight" day, led by our own veteran Marine, Kim Johnson of Granite City, alongside dedicated staff, volunteers, and community partners. Through a blend of patriotic service, educational virtual tours, and heartwarming "welcome" ceremonies, attendees gain a deeper understanding of the profound sacrifices made by veterans. Open to veterans, families, and the wider public, the Virtual Flight of Honor encapsulates our commitment to honoring and cherishing those who have served our nation, ensuring their enduring legacy is celebrated with dignity and respect.
