At the City of North Plains, our Public Works Department stands as the backbone of our community, ensuring essential services are provided seamlessly around the clock. With a commitment to excellence, our department oversees the provision of drinking water, maintenance of streets and stormwater systems, and upkeep of our cherished parks. Boasting an impressive infrastructure portfolio, we manage 21 miles of water mains, two above-ground water reservoirs with pump stations totaling 3 million gallons, and 18.32 miles of streets alongside stormwater drainage ditches.
Our dedication to maintaining a high quality of life extends to the care of our public spaces, including seven parks, a community garden, and pedestrian paths, totaling 3.5 acres of landscaping and building maintenance. Led by Public Works Director Dustin Lueckenotte, our small but dedicated team of operations technicians—Javier Espinoza, Cody Brown, Matt Schnepp, Isaiah Cooper, and George Bergstrom—work tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of our city's infrastructure. While routine maintenance and small capital projects are handled in-house, larger-scale endeavors are competitively bid and executed by trusted contractors, ensuring efficiency and accountability in all our operations.
