In preparation for the 2024 Primary Election, Lansing, KS allows the placement of political yard signs in designated public areas starting June 22, which is 45 days before the election on August 6. Candidates and supporters are reminded to adhere to local sign regulations to ensure compliance. Signs in residential areas can be up to 8 square feet and up to 16 square feet in commercial areas. Oversized signs require a permit, available at no cost, to help monitor their locations. Signs must not be placed on private property without owner's consent and should not obstruct visibility near intersections or be attached to public utilities or traffic devices. Non-compliant signs will be removed and may be disposed of if not claimed. For permit applications and more details, visit the Lansing permits website or contact the Code Enforcement Officer.
