Located atop Howell Mountain in Napa Valley, CA, this residence offers a seamless integration of mountainous terrain and expansive valley views. Originally built in the 1960s, the home underwent significant renovations to enhance its connection with the natural surroundings. Key modifications included elevating the roof by five feet and installing a new steel window and door system to optimize both proximate and distant views. The design strategically places large windows and doors on the southern facade, effectively merging the indoor and outdoor spaces. Local Saint Helena cottage stone is thoughtfully used throughout the entry, landscaping, and interior, anchoring the home to its majestic setting. The project was led by architects Chris Parlette and Kenneth Holder, with construction by Precision Builders.
