Welcome To

The Colors of Oz

Hey there! Im Oz. I am an abstract fluid artist, working in pouring acrylics, alcohol ink, and resin. Coming from a long and rewarding career as a service dog trainer, my journey to becoming an artist was an unexpected new path that has brought me incredible joy.

I stumbled upon fluid arts unintentionally, when I wandered into a local art gallery and saw a gorgeous little painting. I bought the piece, googled the phrase acrylic with pouring medium which I found on the back of the painting, and just like that, I discovered a beautiful world of color and flow, unlike anything I had seen before. I was hooked. I had recently left my career in order to volunteer and travel abroad in Mexico, Central America, and South America. On my travels, I was inspired by all the vibrant colors and beautiful arts and crafts in each country.

Upon my return home, I started creating art in my garage. I am self-taught through a lot of experimenting and trial and error, but also owe a lot of my inspiration and knowledge to a number of talented and bighearted artists within the fluid arts community. Thank you, ladies!

When I am not out in the garage arting around, I enjoy rock climbing, pretending I am a Cirque du Soleil aerialist on the Lyra hoop (which translates to covering myself with bruises and getting nauseous while spinning), traveling, adventuring, and enjoying the outdoors, concerts, and more with my fiance. We live in a renovated barn in Napa Valley with a beloved menagerie of three large dogs and a large (minded) cat.
