Despite our nation's wealth, millions of individuals and families face challenges in accessing sufficient, safe, and nutritious food consistently. Our mission revolves around tackling this pervasive problem by providing an accessible solution for those living in food deserts and experiencing food insecurity. According to the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), approximately 10.2 percent (13.5 million households) were food insecure in recent years, emphasizing the urgency of our cause.
At the heart of our efforts is The Block Market, our innovative mobile grocery store that travels to urban, suburban, and rural areas throughout Texas, serving as a beacon of hope for those in need. The Block Market carries FREE fresh fruit, vegetables, and other healthy market items, addressing the prevalent food insecurity issue in Texas where 13% of households, or 1 in 8 Texans, face this challenge. We believe that access to fresh, wholesome food is a fundamental right, and through The Block Market, we are working tirelessly to ensure that every member of our community can make healthier dietary choices, thereby enhancing their overall well-being.
