Texas Challenge Academy

Texas Challenge Academy in Eagle Lake, TX, is a 5½-month, tuition-free, quasi-military residential program sponsored by the Texas National Guard. Designed for teens ages 15½ to 18 who have become disengaged in school, the academy provides structured academic support, discipline, and life-building skills. Through a balanced environment of guidance and expectations, we help students regain their confidence, strengthen personal responsibility, and get back on track toward a brighter future.

Our mission is to help at-risk youth unlock their full potential through education, training, mentoring, and community service. We strive to be known as Texas’s leading alternative education program for teens seeking a second chance, offering them the tools, support, and encouragement they need to re-engage with their goals and step confidently into adulthood.
